You're pretty understanding.
Yes well you're pretty lucky. My mom is still trying to make me join again b/c shes the new band vice president and she LOVED marching band and so did my stepdad so she just doesnt care that I dont wanna do it. Everyones's still trying to make me do it too. *sigh*
So how are you?
oh that's right, it doesnt snow here...its always like 90 degrees when we go to practice, and i hate the heat :[ but i LOVE marching band....i love the feeling of acomplisment after football games, and in my school everyone loves the marching band :] and its okay that you turned it into a biograpy... :]
(I'm sorry that this turned into an autobiography but here's why):
Well b/c I never actually enjoyed it. I mean there were parts that I liked about it (like the feelings of togetherness and parties), but I didnt really like performing at football games where we were never really appreciated by our school, or practicing in -5 degree wind chill when it wasnt necessary for the pit, or rarely ever getting a feeling of accomlishment except for one or two times maybe. I also wasn't accustomed to being inferior to those who had been in it longer than I had but were no where near better. I didnt Love it like my friends did, and they couldnt understand that. But they do really miss me and I almost joined but...I didnt want to.
I'm sorry, but I dont think I specified well enough:
1. I DID in fact pass out once because of the heat, and that was just during warm-ups
2. I always did need to sit down because I became Very dizzy each time
3.I lacked a sufficient amount of upper body strength, so I was unable to hold the baritone in set position or march with it.
4.Even the band director politely mentioned that maybe I wasnt suited for marching
I know that these may not seem like valid excuses for someone who enjoys marching band, but they're the reason why I couldn't march. There are a numerous amount of reasons why I'm not doing marching band this year, but I'm not sure if you want to hear why.:\
thats a pretty weak excuse to get out of marching :| oh and i live in florida.......
Well i played only chimes, since it was my first time playing percussion. I originally played baritone, but it turns out that I couldnt march because I almost passed out b/c of the heat. So I switched to the pit. Oh, I live in Pennsylvania btw. What about you?
cool :] what did you play in pit, and what state do you live in [you dont have to answer that last question]
Ohhh
I was in the pit for marching band and I play trombone in wind ensemble.
i play sax in marching band and bassoon in wind ensemble :]
Hey i used to be in marching bad too:)
What instrument do u play? sax or bassoon...or other?
